The album “Noah’s Boat”, produced by Patch B and distributed in France by Night n’ Day and in the United Kingdom by Discovery, led the group to play outside the borders of France… (Cargo, Jazz café in London, the universities of East London and East Anglia in Norwich, etc). The London press describes her as a “phenomenon” and nicknames her the “Creole Queen”. Dublin’s Irish Time gave her four stars for the best selection in World Music. Her meeting with artistic director E.r.k. resulted in a true musical love at first sight; together, they created an atypical universe, mixing sounds that are both raw and technological. Very soon, they created their own label and released two albums. In 2007, the “In.organic” album was fully recorded, produced, directed and mixed by the duo. It was with 2009’s “Idiomes”, however, that Morgane Ji undeniably asserted her style. Although the energy of rock and the electromagnetic processes were still there, its atypical polymorphic tones, its idiomatic writing, and its shamanic onomatopoeias placed it in a category apart. Currently, the group is finishing its next opus, from which their EP “Woman Soldier” is extracted. Her polymorphic voice is at turns deep and sensual, animalistic or warrior-like, while her banjo twangs across hypnotic samples and high-flying guitar riffs. She is coming to present her new album “Woman Soldier” accompanied by E.r.k. (guitar, machines), Laurent Sureau (keyboards, handpan), Olivier Carole (bass) and Morgan Cornebert (drums).

11 October 2017 “WORLD TOUR 2017-2018 DIANA KRALL IN CONCERT AT THE SALLE DES ETOILES SPORTING MONTE-CARLO – Diana Krall learned music thanks to her father at a very young age. Born in 1964 in British Columbia in Canada, it was in her teenage years that she joined a jazz group with whom she played at a local restaurant and attended her first auditions. Noticed by Ray Brown who presented her to Jimmy Rowles (Ella Fitzgerald’s pianist), she released her first album in 1993, “Stepping Out”, in which she invited some big names in jazz such as Jeff Hamilton and John Clayton. “Love Scenes” led her to being nominated at the Grammy Awards for best jazz vocal album. With “When I Look In Your Eyes” (1999), her career became international and the Grammy Award didn’t escape her. With several albums and awards won, Diana Krall released her last opus “Wallflower” in 2015. It includes very personal reinterpretations of “California Dreamin’” by The Mamas & The Papas and “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” by Elton John. An album created for neophytes as well as purists. After performing in July 2003 during the Monte-Carlo Sporting Summer Festival, Diana Krall once again performed at the Opéra Garnier as part of the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival 2012. It was at the Monaco Red Cross Ball, in 2014, that the unparalleled singer and pianist took to the stage of the Salle des Etoiles and performed her album entitled “Glad Rag Doll”. We will be happy to welcome her back, at the Salle des Etoiles, on 11 October 2017 with her next album. 14 – 16 October 2017 – MONTE-CARLO VOICES MASTERS 2017 – AUDITORIUM RAINIER III – The Monte-Carlo Voices Masters competition is exclusively for finalists of the major international singing competitions. preselections take place in various countries, following which selected contestants participate in three final rounds in Monte-Carlo. The participants have one objective: win the Prince Rainier III prize, and especially the promise of a concert tour in France and abroad.

14 October to 4 December 2017 LET’S FALL IN DIAMONDS AN ART INSTALLATION BY CHARLES KAISIN – For his first temporary art installation at the Casino de Monte-Carlo, Charles Kaisin has created a scenographic work based on a motif of red and white diamonds, a powerful symbol evoking both the Royal family’s coat of arms and the world of card games. The principle: a “camouflage” installation, with the entire Atrium and Rotunda of the Casino de Monte-Carlo given a dramatic new look, some 1400 m2 of diamond-patterned fabric adorning the legendary venue’s Art Deco decor, from the floor and walls to the furniture, fixtures and fittings… This journey into the worlds of Art and Gaming brought to you by the Casino de Monte-Carlo, is also a meeting between the creative savoir-faire of Charles Kaisin’s teams, and the artisanal and culinary expertise of the men and women of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. Best of the Rest – This season is quite literally about ready to wear. Relaxed and easy day wear at Céline or Dior, ready to go straight from the catwalk to the closet. Dior’s girl army wore denim and workwear style jackets with the emblematic bar jacket sporting a hood. The denim trend touched on another look, Americana. Cowboy boots, denim shirts and clothes made with handcrafted techniques had a traditional feel. Alexander McQueen went with an English country heritage theme while at Gucci and Balenciaga it was a cultural mash up, snakeskin and vivid colour mixed with a vintage vibe.

Dolce&GabbanaAfter Milan, Cannes, Tokyo, Saint-Barthélemy and Venice, it’s Monte Carlo’s turn to welcome a new Dolce & Gabbana store that looks to be followed by a store dedicated to childrenswear. Located in the city centre at the Boulevard des Moulins, the flagship is just two steps away from the iconic casino. Moreover, it covers 800 square metres of retail space over three levels, and it has two entries. The first, accessed from l’avenue de la Madone, overlooks the lower level of the store, dedicated to womenswear with ready-to-wear lines, accessories and jewellery. The key piece that nails this trend has to be the sexy diamanté covered slouchy heeled boots at Saint Laurent.

That 70’s ShowThe 70’s was the retro inspo for Prada, Gucci and Miu Miu. It wasn’t hippy or disco but chic daywear in caramel, coffee and tobacco tones. Wallpaper prints, pimp-style jackets and lots of feathers and fluff finishes off the look. Prada elevated the granny knit cardigan to must-have status and corduroy (every geography teacher’s favourite) is the fabric of the season.

 Working Girl Exec – Power suiting powered down the runway in all styles and incarnations. There were pronounced shoulders, pressed, loose trousers to slim fitting ones and nipped in jacket waists. The prevailing factor was: the suit is the new “cosmopolitan practicality”. Prince of Wales checks at Alexander McQueen, oversized and mannish at Céline and double breasted jackets were a mini trend within a trend, as seen at Bottega Veneta.
