28 Septembre at 6,30 pm- THURSDAY LIVE SESSIONS – MORGAN JI – “CRÉOLE QUEEN” – GRIMALDI FORUM MONACO – NEW ALBUM “WOMAN SOLDIER” – In 2000, the World Patch B label, looking for atypical voices, offered her a position as lead singer for one of its productions. The album “Noah’s Boat”, produced by Patch B and distributed in France by Night n’ Day and in the United Kingdom by Discovery, led the group to play outside the borders of France… (Cargo, Jazz café in London, the universities of East London and East Anglia in Norwich, etc). The London press describes her as a “phenomenon” and nicknames her the “Creole Queen”. Dublin’s Irish Time gave her four stars for the best selection in World Music. Her meeting with artistic director E.r.k. resulted in a true musical love at first sight; together, they created an atypical universe, mixing sounds that are both raw and technological. Very soon, they created their own label and released two albums. In 2007, the “In.organic” album was fully recorded, produced, directed and mixed by the duo. It was with 2009’s “Idiomes”, however, that Morgane Ji undeniably asserted her style. Although the energy of rock and the electromagnetic processes were still there, its atypical polymorphic tones, its idiomatic writing, and its shamanic onomatopoeias placed it in a category apart. Currently, the group is finishing its next opus, from which their EP “Woman Soldier” is extracted. Her polymorphic voice is at turns deep and sensual, animalistic or warrior-like, while her banjo twangs across hypnotic samples and high-flying guitar riffs. She is coming to present her new album “Woman Soldier” accompanied by E.r.k. (guitar, machines), Laurent Sureau (keyboards, handpan), Olivier Carole (bass) and Morgan Cornebert (drums).

The principle: a “camouflage” installation, with the entire Atrium and Rotunda of the Casino de Monte-Carlo given a dramatic new look, some 1400 m2 of diamond-patterned fabric adorning the legendary venue’s Art Deco decor, from the floor and walls to the furniture, fixtures and fittings… This journey into the worlds of Art and Gaming brought to you by the Casino de Monte-Carlo, is also a meeting between the creative savoir-faire of Charles Kaisin’s teams, and the artisanal and culinary expertise of the men and women of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. For the “Let’s Fall in Diamonds” installation, the decor, furnishings and works of art are all drawn from the company’s iconic heritage (casino, hotels, restaurants). Over 600 pieces have been specially decorated for the occasion, each one bringing history back to life in a defiantly contemporary new red and white skin that preserves and sublimes all at once. AUTUMN-WINTER 2017 MONTE-CARLO SHOPPING PROMENADE IN MONACO, AN UNFORGETTABLE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE – This was what designers addressed with their current collections. And guess what? They’ve all got their own answer – Monaco is undoubtedly the international luxury capital of the world. Th Société des Bains de Mer offers its own version of luxury shopping, bringing together forty of the world’s most prestigious brands near the Place du Casino in the legendary Carré d’Or, or Golden Square. You’ll find the biggest, most illustrious names in fashion, haute couture, perfumes and jewellery. These luxury brands have found a setting whose prestige measures up to their own: Monaco. Stroll among the Monte-Carlo Pavilions, which resemble modern sculptures that correspond perfectly to Casino de Monte-Carlo’s extravagant style. Continue on foot to the Hotel Hermitage Monte-Carlo then along the prestigious Avenue de Monte-Carlo and Allée François Blanc. The most distinguished brands on an open-air shopping promenade, under the blue Mediterranean sky. A truly novel and ultra-luxurious shopping experience. There’s something for everyone and it’s arguably fashion’s most inclusive season ever. The message is clear; diversity is what makes fashion-and life-great.
Best of the Rest – This season is quite literally about ready to wear. Relaxed and easy day wear at Céline or Dior, ready to go straight from the catwalk to the closet. Dior’s girl army wore denim and workwear style jackets with the emblematic bar jacket sporting a hood. The denim trend touched on another look, Americana. Cowboy boots, denim shirts and clothes made with handcrafted techniques had a traditional feel. Alexander McQueen went with an English country heritage theme while at Gucci and Balenciaga it was a cultural mash up, snakeskin and vivid colour mixed with a vintage vibe.
Dolce&Gabbana – After Milan, Cannes, Tokyo, Saint-Barthélemy and Venice, it’s Monte Carlo’s turn to welcome a new Dolce & Gabbana store that looks to be followed by a store dedicated to childrenswear. Located in the city centre at the Boulevard des Moulins, the flagship is just two steps away from the iconic casino. Moreover, it covers 800 square metres of retail space over three levels, and it has two entries. The first, accessed from l’avenue de la Madone, overlooks the lower level of the store, dedicated to womenswear with ready-to-wear lines, accessories and jewellery. The second entry, from Boulevard des Moulins, leads visitors straight to the upper level, dedicated to accessories, bags and shows, while the middle level — which joins each level with a golden staircase — sells the brand’s menswear. “The idea is to take customers on a ‘grand tour’, an ideal journey, an imaginary voyage, where the aesthetic and values of the brand engage with the unique characteristics, excellence and culture of each city,” explained the maison. So, as underlined by the two designers in a statement, “at the Monte Carlo store, we attached ourselves to the elegance, luxury and charm of the city. We love the idea that in entering the store, customers can feel immersed in the glamorous atmosphere of the Côte d’Azur, a magical place, a holiday destination celebrated by the whole world.”
Raschini for men – After Moscow, the Opening in Monte Carlo, with Exclusive Services for demanding customers – Thanks to the presence on the Russian market, Maison Raschini is synonymous of stylish clothing for many VIP, emphasizing more and more the legendary and historic Italian quality of work done by hand, in which Naples is mastering. Each item proposed by our Boutique must enclose the distinct personality and exclusivity of the customer thus outlining a real lifestyle, based on the Easy Chic philosophy that only a high-Brand like the Neapolitan Raschini can transmit in the Principality of Monaco, indisputable and splendid showcase for an inimitable product for quality and style.
Red Alert – Forget the millennial pink of spring, red is the colour of this season. Wear it top to toe (like we do with black… but only in red) or in varying shades and contrasting fabrics. Powerful and arresting, stop traffic in Prada’s figure hugging, flirty hemmed red dress.
Sexy Space Glamour – Defined by Chanel, with an actual spaceship taking off in the Grand Palais, the glitter, silver lamé and sequins on show at Dior, Miu Miu and Saint Laurent confirmed that you either go big on the evening glamour or stay at home. The key piece that nails this trend has to be the sexy diamanté covered slouchy heeled boots at Saint Laurent.
That 70’s Show – The 70’s was the retro inspo for Prada, Gucci and Miu Miu. It wasn’t hippy or disco but chic daywear in caramel, coffee and tobacco tones. Wallpaper prints, pimp-style jackets and lots of feathers and fluff finishes off the look. Prada elevated the granny knit cardigan to must-have status and corduroy (every geography teacher’s favourite) is the fabric of the season.
Working Girl Exec – Power suiting powered down the runway in all styles and incarnations. There were pronounced shoulders, pressed, loose trousers to slim fitting ones and nipped in jacket waists. The prevailing factor was: the suit is the new “cosmopolitan practicality”. Prince of Wales checks at Alexander McQueen, oversized and mannish at Céline and double breasted jackets were a mini trend within a trend, as seen at Bottega Veneta.
As said, it’s the season where anything goes. For this new season, treat yourself to the luxury and glamour of an original shopping experience. Read more on Monte-Carlo Shopping website. Informations: T. +377 98 06 20 00 http://www.montecarloshopping.com/
